Bruce A. Shaffer, Board Member
Dr. Shaffer has been a solo practitioner for the past 18 years and has also been a member of the medical staff at St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe, New Mexico since 1991. He has served as Assistant Director at St. Vincent Hospital in both the Intensive Care Unit and Respiratory Therapy Department. During his fellowship training, Dr. Shaffer conducted research in the subject of pulmonary function characteristics in the Hispanic population. He has written articles published in American Review of Respiratory Disease and the journal Chest. Dr. Shaffer is community-oriented and has served in many medical organizations devoted to his profession.
Dr. Shaffer was born in Albuquerque and is a life-long resident of the State of New Mexico. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from the University of New Mexico and his M.D. from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency, Pulmonary Medicine Fellowship and Critical Care training at the University of New Mexico Hospital. Dr. Shaffer is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Disease, and specializes in Critical Care Medicine.
